"There is a secret relationship between I and The Reality. When this relationship comes to an end, the I and the world disappears in a puff of smoke".

It is because of this secret relationship with 'The Reality', both the sense of 'I' and the world it is seeing / experiencing happens. If there is no “The Reality”, then there is no relationship and therefore there is no “I” and since there is no “I”, “the world” that the “I” is experiencing also disappears.

Among these three entities “The Reality”, “I” & “the world”, “the world” comes into existence only because of “I” and “I” comes into existence only because of “The Reality”. Therefore, the “I” getting to know “The Reality” is the ultimate purpose of “I”.

In order for the “I” to get to know “The Reality”, the “I” needs to get convinced that it exists only because of “The Reality”. In order for the “I” to get convinced, it first needs to start (re)searching on who / what it is and at the end of this (re)search, the “I” shall realize that it is not a separate entity but it is “The Reality” that comes into being (existence) as “I” in order to experience “the world” it (The Reality) creates as “I”. Hence, technically, every one of us create our own world and therefore in The Quran Allah is said to be “The Lord of the worlds”.

At the end of this (re)search, “I” also realizes that “The Reality” coming into being is an on and off phenomena. “The Reality” comes into being is the “on” phenomena and it happens when the eyes (senses in general) of the “I” opens and “off” phenomena indicates “The Reality” ceasing to exist and becoming “Itself” when the eyes (senses in general) closes. In simple terms, the on (The Reality coming into existence) happens when we wake up from sleep and the off (The Reality ceasing to exist) happens when we close our eyes and fall asleep. In other words, “The Reality” is human when the “I” is awake (eyes open and the senses are active) and “The Reality” is “ITSELF” when the “I” is sleeping (eyes closed and the senses are inactive).

Upon and after this realization, even though there is still “I” and “the world” that the “I” is experiencing, this “I” is now not “I” but “The Reality” itself. Now, the “I”'s experiencing of this world is different from i's experiencing of this world before this realization. Earlier “I” actively participated in its experiencing but now its participation is passive. The role of “I” after this realization is that of an observer. An observer is one who observes all the events taking place around him without getting involved in them...meaning...the observer does not react to any of the events. Observing itself is also experiencing but it is a different kind of experiencing. This is known as “being detached while being attached”. To the other “I”s, it appears that the “I” is attached but it is actually detached. This can be confirmed when the “I” stops reacting to anything that happens around him/her...meaning...the “I” becomes non-opinionated and non-judgmental.
